Santa got rave reviews at our house for his work on Christmas Eve. Our six and eight year olds that live with us full time were excited with the number, the selection and the quality of their gifts. The younger was very satisfied with the 20 inch bicycle and his big boy Bible. The older loved his roller blades and his video game. And both loved their LOUD toys, a Warplane for the younger and a Tank for the older.

This children's book is designed to deepen the readers devotion to God by giving stories from Scripture in kid-friendly terms. Each day's entry is introduced with a verse from the Bible, followed by the story? Then the child is asked a question that helps apply the point of the story. Finally, there is a short word of prayer about the topic of the day. It is aimed at children 3-6, so parents or older siblings will have to read it to them. Of course, that is a good thing too!

ButterFinger Crunchers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently was in a local dollar store, where I saw what I thought was a package of eight miniature Butter Finger candy bars for a dollar. But I did not read carefully enough, they were a new product, Butter Finger Crunchers. Here is one vote to leave well enough alone. These taste like the Nutty Buddy bars produced by Little Debbie. They are all right, but they do not get close to as good as Butter Finger.

A friend of mine has just begun a new blog called Life's Little Commentary. The blogger is a young father so there will probably be observations about raising kids. He is fascinated by new technologies, so I imagine he will write about the toys he has gotten or wants to get. He loves life, so we will no doubt hear about the things he enjoys as he discovers new avenues of fun.

I plan to check in on this blog frequently and take in my friend's commentary on life. I hope to see you there!

This morning I was at a meeting in Angleton, Texas. When the meeting was breaking up, a group of us went together to a local restaurant called SmithHeart's. It has a nice menu at an affordable price and we received very cordial service. I chose a steak finger basket and was very pleased with the meal. The meat was real round steak, and the gravy was thick and creamy. I will try them again.

My grandson just rode a bicycle without training wheels for the first time. He was so proud of himself. He only fell acouple of times as he was learning to navigate turn around in the street. I have just bought a macbook 2.16 laptop computer and am trying to get used to the differences between it and my Toshiba PC. It took me a while to find the word processing program and figure out how to use it. I am still wondering if this will be readable by the blog site. I suppose it will. I have gotten some of my bookmarks on the Internet made and am getting comfortable with how to navigate on the web. Outlook Express works a bit different here as well. I wonder how long it will take to get used to this.

Do you have a favorite place to eat Mexican food? Ours a little family restaurant called Celaya. When we found it, it was only five or six minutes from our house. The owners are very friendly and their food they serve is better than any Mexican food we have ever tried, and we have tried a lot of it.
My favorite is a shrimp quesadilla.

About a year and a half ago they decided not to pay the proposed increase in rent when their lease expired. They chose to move to a new location, two towns away from us. We don’t go as often now as we did when they were around the corner, but when we really want good Mexican food we drive the half hour to get to Celaya. We just got back from a trip over there. I am full and satisfied!
