These days it is relatively easy to keep track of your credit rating. You can go on line and take a look at your status using a free credit report. It has not always been so. You could call to request information or you could have it mailed to you. But if you were wanting to take out a loan, especially a big one, it was more difficult to be able to determine if you were going to be qualified.
You used to have to go through an application process that would take hours or even days to complete while the lender checked on your credit history. In that regard, I don’t want to go back to the good old days!
